The new generation Canter has undertaken dramatic changes in its appearance and appointments, both inside and out, over its predecessor.

The Canter's unique design features superb aerodynamics, ideal mirror placement, halogen lamps with bold headlight styling, keyless entry, a convenient tilt cab and crew cabs that can transport 7 people in comfort. All this adds to the simple, yet powerfully functional design of the new generation Canter.

That's not all. The Canter also offers a wide swinging door, which provides a 950mm entry way to the cab, windshield wipers with integrated washing nozzles for a better clean, and a big cab step which allows for effortless entry into the cab.

The Canter Cockpit puts the driver first for a new experience in truck operation

In a first for cab-over trucks, the gearshift is mounted in the dash. This enables a relaxed driving position and also clears the way for easy movement across the front seat. In fact, cockpit ergonomics reach a new height with the Canter because all cockpit features -- like the side parking brake lever -- score a perfect balance between driver comfort and workhorse functionality.

The Canter's in-dash gearshift is a world first in cab-over trucks. The in-dash gearshift is in easy reach of the steering wheel, and features a short-stroke for crisp and precise shifting. The combination of in-dash gearshift and cabin roominess opens the way for the driver to cross the cabin with exemplary ease.

The Canter also offers a reclining seatback, and front-back adjustable seat, to allow the driver to set the optimal seat position. In the wide cab variants, both driver and passenger have reclining seatbacks. In addition the steering wheel position adjusts both up-down and forward-backward, enabling the driver to set the optimal steering position. These features combine to ensure that Canter drivers of all physiques, achieve a comfortable and safe driving position.

New cab and chassis protect the driver with reassuring passive safety

Canter takes driver safety to the highest level, with world class features built in. You can have the assurance and superior control of anti-lock braking (ABS) standard on every model. FE Canter cabs are rigid safety cells and feature doors reinforced with side-impact beams, for superior protection in side-on collisions. The front chassis contains members which deform longitudinally, while the instrument panel absorbs more energy, providing greater safety in a head on collision.

Optional driver airbag and seat belt pre-tensioners complete a package that makes for total peace of mind. Front and rear stabiliser bars dramatically improve cornering and road handling, while halogen headlights enhance night vision and large convex mirrors reduce blind spots. With its impressively small turning circle and superior handling, Super Low now looks like a truck, but drives like a car. In fact, you only need a Class A drivers licence.

Super Low allows you to carry three pallets instead of the regular two, increasing your productivity. So while it's compact in size, Super Low is big on performance.

With its exceptional turning circle, Canter 2.0t Wide Cab is perfect for inner city deliveries. Whether you're a courier, florist, carry a freezer van, dry goods or have a tray top application, this Canter is just what you need.Its gutsy engine packs a punch, yet Canter 2.0t Wide Cab can be driven with a class A licence.

It's Available in short or medium wheelbases so you can be confident your payload and body length demands will be met. Canter 3.5 - 4.0 Tonne

The Versatile Performer

The 3.5 and 4.0 Canters effortlessly power through any medium sized application. They're perfect for carrying dry, frozen or perishable goods and can fit a wide variety of bodies, like agitators and garbage compactors. For construction or landscaping work the factory Canter Tipper comes with an automatic opening tailgate and drop-side all round for greater flexibility.

The factory Tipper can also be configured to suit a class A driving licence. Which ever application you choose, the long taper leaf front suspension (or semi-elliptic on factory tippers) means you'll enjoy a smooth ride.

Goes All Out For Drivers

Carrying larger loads doesn't mean you sacrifice comfort. With the top of the range Canter 4.5t, you will appreciate the spacious cabin and convenient features at your fingertips, while the new six speed transmission lets you cruise through the day.

There's a choice of long and extra long wheelbases both with new steer axles for increased load capacities. In fact, the extra long wheelbase model - the longest in its class - can haul an amazing 10 pallet load. Like all Canters, the engine has low vibration, with improved cabin soundproofing for a quieter drive.
